Puck Dumps

It’s the final week of the regular season. You are almost done with hearing about the Islanders several times a week!

The Top Line
Alexander Ovechkin scored goal number 50, and the Capitals still cling to hope for the postseason. NBC, Yahoo, Sports Illustrated, The Local Take

Scoreboard
New York Rangers 4, Carolina 1 – Marty St. Louis had 3 assists, which means the Rangers in the post season is pretty much all his fault

Columbus 4, Phoenix 3 (OT) – Something about this being a scrap for the final spots in the playoffs feels right.

Ottawa 4, New York Islanders 1 – Both of these squads fade into the offseason quietly, without drama.

Detroit 4, Buffalo 2 – Detroit with a crucial late season win over Buffalo. That”s a funny thing to say.

Tampa Bay 3, Toronto 0 – Just think, the only thing in the news in Toronto will be Rob Ford for the next 5 months, instead of just 3.

Philadelphia 5, Florida 2 – After their dreadful start, the fact that the Flyers are postseason bound is a minor miracle.

Washington 4, St. Louis 1 – Nicklas Backstrom also had 2 goals, on top of the various other headlines from this contest.

Minnesota 4, Boston 3 (SO)- The Wild are on the verge of clinching a spot in the playoffs as well. ASAS

Dallas 3, Nashville 2 (SO) – Meanwhile, the Stars are attempting to stave off the Coyotes for the last playoff spot in the west. ASAS

Colorado 4, Edmonton 1 – As it stands, the Avs will be playing the Blackhawks in the playoffs, which would be an excellent series.

Tweet of the Moment

The news is just coming out, but Kris Letang, who suffered a stroke a few months ago, is back on the ice tonight for the Penguins. This is such excellent news, I can’t even think of anything snarky to say.
